Arts grants recipients announced

The Bradford County Regional Arts Council (BCRAC), working with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) is pleased to present an annual regional Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 7th, 2014 at 4:30pm at the Keystone Theatre, Towanda.

Grantees will set up displays and will be on hand to talk with attendees about their projects and programs during a reception preceding the Awards Ceremony. During the Awards Ceremony PA State Representaive, Tina Pickett, will assist in presenting the 2014-2015 Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Grant Awards to applicants from across Bradford, Columbia, Lycoming, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wyoming Counties.

The Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Program is a partnership initiative of the PA Council on the Arts, a state agency. PPA operates as a small grants program that allows regional partners and the state to work together to make a significant impact on arts and cultural opportunities at a local level. This year, BCRAC received over $49,500 in Project Stream requests from more than 20 organizations with only $20,108 available to re-grant. Applications were reviewed and scored by a panel of community members from across the seven counties served.

Artists and organizations receiving 2014-2015 Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Project Stream support include:

  • Clifford Township Historical Society - Susquehanna County
  • Downtown Bloomsburg - Columbia County
  • Friends of Mt. Pisgah State Park - Bradford County
  • Sally Wiener Grotta - Columbia County
  • Home Textile Tool Museum - Bradford County
  • Jubilate Choir - Columbia County
  • Keystone College - Wyoming County
  • PA Heritage Festival- Bradford County
  • St. Peter's Episcopal Church- Wyoming County
  • The Valley Chorus - Bradford County
  • Troy Area Youth Arts Camp - Bradford County
  • Wellsboro Community Concert Association - Tioga County
  • Williamsport City Jazz Orchestra - Lycoming County
  • Winding River Players - Bradford County

PA Partners in the Arts is the regional arts funding partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency. State government funding comes through an annual appropriation by Pennsylvania's General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. The mission of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts is to foster the excellence, diversity, and vitality of the arts in Pennsylvania and to broaden the availability and appreciation of those arts throughout the state
